The 1st Uganda Judo Hero’s Championship 2021 has been scheduled to take place at Uganda Prisons Staff College, Luzira in the Martial Arts Hall on Sunday the 6th of June 2021

  1. COMPETITION.

The competition will be carried out according to the rules and sporting of International Judo Federation.

  1. ENTRIES

First Entry:

Club are requested to inform the organizing committee whether they will participate in the championships or not by sending the total number of participants not later than 26th MAY 2021.

Final Entry:

  1. WEIGHT CATEGORIES

Competition will be carried out regardless of the level of grading & weight.

Competitors shall only be entered in the weight category to which they belong.

  1. NATIONALITY:

This is an open tournament and all nationalities are welcome including refugees.

Teams should carry with them. Their NATIONAL FLAG (CLUB FLAGS FOR THOSE IN; Private Clubs, Schools (local/ international primary & secondary), Higher Institutions of learning (universities & technical institutes and Armed Forces (Army, Police, Prisons, Private Security Organizations).

  1. COMPETITION AGE:

There is no age limit for competitors. For those competitors who have not attained their majority (legal adult age), the Club should obtain authority from their parents.

  1. CODE OF DRESSING:

All Judokas must wear official Judo uniforms during competition as per the IJF Rules.

Color: Please note that Blue and White judogis are obligatory

  1. TRAVEL AND FEEDING

All clubs will be responsible for transportation and feeding of their athletes during the event days.

  1. FINANCIAL CONDITION:

UGX 15,000/= participation fee for every Judoka.

UGX 30,000/= shall be charged from athletes who shall not pay before the dead line

  1. COVID – 19 REGULATIONS

In adherence to the H.E the President and the Ministry of Health guidelines against the spread of Covid-19 all participants;

  1. Must put on a face mask in and out of the competition arena except while in the ring fighting.
  2. Must maintain social distance of 2 miters from each other in and out of the event hall
  3. Wash their hands or sanitize regularly before, during and after the event.

  1. AWARDS:
  1. All participants shall be awarded with participation certificates.
  2. Positions 1, 2 and 3 shall be awarded with certificates of merit.
  3. Positions 1, 2, and 3 shall also be awarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
  4. Winning team shall be awarded with an overall trophy
  5. Shillings 100, 000/= cash prize for Male Overall winner and 50, 000/= cash prize for the Female overall winner. This shall be awarded on condition that the judokas cleared participation fee.
  6. All. Officials will receive medals & participation certificate.
  1. PARTICULAR RULES FOR WOMEN:

Shirt, with short sleeves, rather strong, long enough to be worn inside the trousers, or a plain white or off-white leotard with short sleeves.

  1. ACCREDITATION:

All participants must send their photos and full particulars prescribing position (Player or Coach or Official) by 25th May 2021 to enable preparation of accreditation cards.

  1. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
  1. 08:30am – 09:00am – Arrival of Delegations (Officials & Players)
  2. 09:00am – 09:30am – Casting of final competition draws
  3. 09:30am – 10:00am – Opening Ceremony
  4. 10:00am – 01:00pm: Competitions
  5. 01:00pm – 02:00pm: Lunch break
  6. 02:00pm – 04:00pm: Competition Continues
  7. 04:00pm – 04:45pm: Closing Ceremony

  2. Awarding of certificates, medals, trophies & cash prize
